Ruptured pipes are frequently caused by water freezing in the lines -- but not always. Below are photos of a hard to reach broken hot water line.
A customer had a small, but constant leak, in a hot water pipe. Unfortunately, that pipe was located below the concrete slab of the house. The slab was reinforced with steel mesh. The pipe was in the soil, several inches below the slab. The leak was discovered because of unsually high water bills, and a warm spot in the concrete of the kitchen floor.
